"The documentary that came out of the drawer!"

Sometimes the action behind the scenes is every bit as dramatic as that on stage.

When the Cavan Drama Festival Committee discovered some forgotten funds in a drawer (literally!) the idea of a documentary to celebrate its 75 years was born. The project was paused by the pandemic but the appetite to capture and commemorate the work of these amazing committees, past and present, was further fuelled by the loss of some members during those Covid times when theatres were dark.

Their stories and wonderful memories of their time with the Festival are seen through the lens of those carrying on the tradition of amateur drama along with some actors braving the All Ireland Circuit for the first time.
