Art of Life

The Art of Life

This project aims to normalise conversations around death and dying using creative approaches for a soft engagement approach and will be delivered over 2024-2025.

Creativity can have a real impact, helping people to process and express emotion, maintain human connection and to make sense of their experiences.  This project will explore  a range of creative approaches, to facilitate these discussions. Creatives will also be upskilled to support and develop delivery.

The creatives will form a key part of delivery as they offer a different type of language, the language of metaphor – perhaps a non-verbal language, a visual vocabulary, which is ideal for engaging those hard to reach. They will be socially engaged artists who will engage in reflective practice and with great sensitivity.

The project has been developed to maximise reach within communities on both sides of the border.  It aims to build a lasting legacy, in creatives, care professionals and the wider public.   Using a range of different partners will allow our reach into communities, engaging with creatives, Age Friendly, Age Sector Networks, Healthy Ireland, community groups and libraries.  The different elements of delivery will create a legacy accessible to communities beyond the life of the project.
