Summer Stars!

Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2023

Summer Stars is the free national reading programme for children that takes place in all public libraries and online each summer from June - August.
All children throughout Co. Cavan are invited to join the fun - it's easy to register and receive a Summer Stars Reading Card to keep track of progress . The Summer Stars Reading Challenge is completely free and runs in tandem with our Summer Programme of Events which are also free of charge!

Registration

Pick up a Reading Card from your local branch – check local opening hours. Visit your library to stock up on your summer reads and use the Reading Card to record each time a book is read, online or in print form.

Note: While Arva Library is closed for refurbishment all children who registered for Summer Stars in Arva Library are welcome to complete the programme in any of our branches. If you can't make it to another library you can keep reading online with BorrowBox - the home of thousands of fantastic eBooks and eAudio books!
Encourage your child to record any books, comics or magazines they read over the summer months and on visiting the library we will stamp all reading cards to keep the momentum going! Every child who reads a book over the summer will receive a certificate AND there will be some goodies along the way too!

Summer Stars on BorrowBox

Browse, borrow, read and listen to the Summer Stars collection of children’s eBooks and eAudio books through the library’s BorrowBox app. Thousands of childrens ebooks and eAudiobooks available for download now! This is free for all members to use anywhere, anytime.
