The Good Grief Club
01 Aug 2025

Location: Johnston Central Library & Belturbet Library
Age: Adults aged 55+
Cavan County Council’s Library Service invites you to come and join…“The Good Grief Club”, as part of the Art of Life project, Creative Cavan.
This project aims to encourage ‘lively ’conversations around planning for end of life, death and dying. Comedy is one approach that can have a real impact, helping people to relax, share their stories and process their thoughts and experiences in a supportive way whilst enjoying the many benefits of The Good Grief Club membership.
The Good Grief Club is open to anyone (aged 55+) to come along and meet with creative facilitators Briege McClean & Anthea McWilliams who will share humour, stories, jokes and oh yes, some creativity too whilst exploring with everyone the art of living, dying, death (defying) and defining. The 2-hour workshop will invite participants to share their own stories, thoughts, fears and future plans around the inevitable, through:
- making something simple
- writing something easy
- with a wee bit of music to kick your heels up to (in the absence of a bucket!) to finish us all off.
- joke telling will be encouraged
