Poetry Day Ireland 2020 Readings by Heather Brett

Poetry Day Ireland took place as a digital/virtual festival on Thursday 30 April and Cavan Library service was delighted to get involved in bringing poetry home this year.  Now in its sixth year, this annual celebration of the spoken and written word is presented by Poetry Ireland in partnership with poetry lovers the length and breadth of the country.

This year’s theme was ‘There will be Time’ so Writer Heather Brett lead us in a series of ‘Time To Listen’ daily poetry readings online from Monday 27th April right up to the 30th April culminating in a celebratory extended reading on Poetry Day Ireland.

Even though the festival is over you can still view the all the readings featured, read Heather Bretts introductions and lines of each daily poem.

We hope you enjoy this unique opportunity to bring poetry to your daily life! #PoetryDayIRL
