Proposed Temporary Road Closure - N-87 Bawnboy to Derrynacreeve

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council intends to close to public traffic the roads described hereunder on Saturday 30th May 2026 between the hours of 10:30 am and 2:30 pm for the purposes of accommodating the “James McManus Memorial Triathlon”.

Roads Closed

N87 Ballyconnell to Swanlinbar Road between Bawnboy and Derrynacreeve.

Alternative Routes

From Swanlinbar divert off the N87 at Derrynacreeve Junction onto the R202 to Ballinamore, then via the R199 to Doogary Cross and then via L-1047, L-1046, L-1045 & L-1044 to rejoin the N87 at Ballyconnell.
From Ballyconnell divert off the N87 onto the Carrigallen Road (L-1044, L-1045, L-1046 & L-1047) to Doogary Cross, then via the R199 to Ballinamore and then via the R202 to rejoin the N87 at Derrynacreeve Junction.

Local access only will be accommodated where practicable.
